    Mohammed Abdullah Alshawsh

    Dr. Mohammed Alshawsh is currently working as Associate Professor at Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He obtained his Ph.D. from Faculty of Medicine, the University of Malaya in 2012. After his one year postdoc at the University of Malaya, he joined Department of Pharmacology, the University of Malaya in 2013. Since then he has been doing preclinical research in the area of metabolic syndrome, cancer, and safety pharmacology. His current field of research interest mainly focuses on the pharmacological and toxicological evaluation of natural products for the treatment of colorectal cancer, obesity, diabetes, and fatty liver diseases using in vivo (animal models) and in vitro (cell culture) studies and investigating the gene expression profiling to unravel the underlying molecular mechanisms involved. He is also doing safety and toxicology studies in particular acute, subacute, and chronic toxicities, genotoxicity, teratogenicity, and postnatal developmental toxicity. Dr. Alshawsh is a member of Italo-Latin American Society of Ethnomedicine, Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology and American Society for Microbiology. He serves as a reviewer for several international journals, such as BMC Complementary Alternative Medicine, European Journal of Clinical Investigation, Journal of European Food Research and Technology, Phytotherapy Research and International Journal for Integrative Biology. Currently, he is supervising 8 Ph.D. students and 1 Master student. He has published over 25 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has given over 15 invited and plenary lectures at international conferences. He has obtained several research grants, such as UMRG, PPP and FRGS and has an h-index of 9 and citations of more than 193 (Scopus) (h-index of 8 and citations of more than 125 Web of Science).

    Lingzhi WANG

    Dr. Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). He also has been working as a Senior Research Scientist at the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore since 2011. Dr. Wang obtained his M.Med. in Medicinal Chemistry from Chongqing Medical University in 1993. He continued his postgraduate studies in NUS and obtained his M.Sc. in Pharmacy and Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 2003 and 2008, respectively. Dr. Wang received the Medical Research Scientist Award from the National Medical Research Council (NMRC Singapore) in 2005, and the Ph.D. Graduate Research Excellence Award from the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) at its Annual Meeting in 2008 (USA). To date, he is the author of over 70 research papers, including articles in Cell, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research, Trends in Pharmacology, and Trends in Biotechnology etc.
